Our Client is a by origin Dutch multinational. A global player in the field of financial lease.
The Managing Board has decided to implement a European Data Center. This is a new business unit, based in Dublin that will centralise and consolidate the AS/400 servers of 20 European businesses as well as those NT servers that need to remain closely linked to the AS/400 servers. This new business unit aims to provide excellent levels of ICT infrastructure services throughout the group.

Functie omschrijving

• The Managing Director is responsible for managing a large-scale data center as a separate business unit that will render infrastructure related ICT services to all entities of the oragnization;
• Responsible for the development of infrastructure related ICT services in line with business requirements;
• Identifying, scoping, developing and implementing the required business processes and disciplines to enable the BU to meet its operational obligations and objectives to the business in a cost-effective way;
• Responsibility for the financial control and performance of the data center.

Functie eisen

• Understanding of an ICT organisation and ICT jobs;
• Understanding of HR-related processes;
• Good knowledge of information technologies and recent technology trends in IT;
• Understanding of IBM’s iSeries-platform including OS/400;
• Good knowledge of IT service management frameworks, e.g. ITIL;
• Knowledge of legislation relevant to contract management, supplier management and tendering.
• Displays good inter-personal skills at all levels of contact and in a wide variety of situations;
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate with senior members of staff in clear, non-technical, language;
• Innovative thinker, should be constantly looking for ways to improve current practices and processes;
• Leadership – an exceptional leader with the ability to lead a highly talented team;
• Fast and accurate diagnosis and resolution – identifies, analyses and addresses potential issues and builds own knowledge with information and input from others to develop effective business solutions;
• Managing Performance & Development – positive attitude to performance management, adopting a clear and transparent process for the development of employees;
• Positive Approach to Change –ability to be flexible to change;
• Communicating and Influencing – ability to build rapport with others by asking questions, listening and communicating information concisely;
• Partnership & Team Working –ability to create strong relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers;
• Championing the vision – ability to motivate the team to follow the vision, inspiring.

Education and Experience
• Professional with a degree and business qualification;
• At least 5 years senior management experience managing and delivering IT services;
• 5 years experience of directly managing teams of managerial and operational staff (teams of 15+);
• Delivery of complex Information Services through internal and external suppliers
• Demonstrable understanding and several years’ experience of service management requirements;
• Evidence of successful management of large scale change (outsourcing transitions and major service changes) highly desirable;
• Ability to interpret IS strategy and take responsibility for far-reaching decisions on major service change issues impacting organisations;
• Experienced in dealing with professionals and managers in other disciplines and has ability to influence decision-makers;
• Experience of P & L coupled to cash flow management;
• Prior experience of working closely with the Board of Directors is advantageous;
• Fluent English and preferably knowledge of one other European language.
